# Mexico Travel FAQ

Accommodation: 5 nights lodging in downtown Oaxaca.Meals:Freshly prepared savory full breakfast, every morning.In total, the experience includes 3 meals per day everyday.Transportation: Airport transfers (arrival and departure) and ground transportation within Oaxaca.Activities & Sightseeing: Entrance fees to museums, archeological sites (Monte Albán), and excursions.Guides & Workshops: English-speaking guides, master artisan workshops (weaving, woodcarving/alebrijes, barro negro), a palenque mezcal tour with guided tasting, and a traditional cooking class.

Tap water in Mexico is not potable. Your lodging, as well as all host restaurants and cooking classes on our itinerary, provide filtered, safe drinking water. We recommend bringing a refillable water bottle, which you can top off throughout the day.

Tour Dates: October 29 to November 3, 2026 (6 Days / 5 Nights).Group Size: Limited to a maximum of 10 people.

You will have dedicated free time integrated into several days: Day 1: Free time after arrival, until the evening pick-up (depending on your flight).Day 4: Free late afternoon following lunch, before dinner, to shop, relax, or join a casual walking tour with the tour leader.Day 5: Free late afternoon after the Arrazola workshop, before dinner.Daily Flexibility: The itinerary balances expert-led excursions with unstructured open time to explore surrounding villages or city highlights on your own terms.

While not explicitly rated as a single difficulty level, the itinerary involves a moderate amount of daily walking and active exploration:Walking tours across cobblestone streets in historic downtown Oaxaca.Standing and walking through markets and artisan studios.Walking through expansive outdoors and uneven steps at archaeological sites like Monte Albán and Mitla, as well as village cemeteries during night visits.

We always do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, though options can sometimes be limited.Because of the nature of traditional Oaxacan cuisine and the fixed menus used by some of our partner restaurants during peak seasons, complete flexibility isn't always guaranteed. At some locations, adjustments can easily be made, while others are more rigid.We kindly ask that you share any specific dietary requirements with us before finalizing your booking so we can review the options with our partners in advance and let you know what can be accommodated.

Day of the Dead is peak season in Oaxaca, and flight prices rise quickly as the dates get closer. We recommend booking your flights at least 6 months before the tour, by late April 2027. Airfare is not included in the tour price, but airport transfers are, so once your flights are booked, share your flight itinerary with us and we will plan your pick-up around it.
