Guelaguetza Itinerary 2010

Friday, July 16th
- Reception at Oaxaca’s International Airport
- Transport to your boutique hotel in the heart of the City Center of Oaxaca
- Tour of the City
- Return to the Hotel
Saturday, July 17th
- Visit to the Santo Domingo Cultural Center (museum) and Church
- Lunch at Restaurant “Catedral”
- Bani Stui Gulal traditional show at the Guelaguetza Auditorium
- Return to the Hotel
Sunday, July 18th
- Visit the archeological site of Monte Alban and Arrazola, town of the Alebrijes (or animal woodcarvings)
- Lunch at La Capilla in Zaachila to enjoy Oaxaca’s traditional “Mole Negro”
- Donaji “La Leyenda” production at the Guelaguetza Auditorium
- Return to the Hotel
Monday, July 19th
- Guelaguetza
- In the evening, we will eat dinner at a restaurant called Asador Vasco, located in the lively Zocalo (town square) of Oaxaca
- Return to the Hotel
Tuesday, July 20th
- Visit to the “Benito Juárez” Market located in dowtown
Oaxaca City
- Lunch at “La Biznaga” Restaurant
- Visit to Santo Domingo’s Ethno-Botanical Garden and a special tour by its designer and creator Alejandro De Avila
- Return to the Hotel
Wednesday, July 21st
- Cooking Class
- Excursion to Mitla, Teotitlan del Valle and El Tule, home of the famous, grand Tule tree
- Inbetween Mitla and Teotitlan, lunch will take place at “El patio,” a restaurant situated in the pleasant valley of Tlacolula
- Free Evening
- Return to the Hotel
Thursday, July 22nd
- Cooking Class or Salsa Dancing Class
- Excursion to Ocotlán, Coyotepec y Jalitza
- Visit to the ex-convent of Cuilapan de Guerrero.
- Free Evening
- Go to “Candela” (Salsa Dancing Club) or night out
- Return to the Hotel
Friday, July 23rd
Transport to the airport and flight home
